Custom‑Built Solutions
You’ve got something that has to get done. You don’t have anybody to hand it to.
For CEOs and founders of growing companies
Custom‑Built Solution is Pat working with you on the specific thing you want done.
Growth, positioning, execution, how the company is organized, or some mix of all of it at once.
One engagement. Built around one challenge. Yours.
Something you’ve never had to build before.
A partnership, a new division, a challenge you’ve never taken on. You can see what it should be. Building it needs somebody who’s done it before.
A plan you need and don’t have.
The growth plan. The succession plan. The plan for the thing you just said yes to. It’s been on the list long enough that your team stopped asking about it.
A job nobody’s doing yet.
Somebody has to drive the work until the person who’ll own it is ready. Right now that’s you, on top of everything else.
Too many moving parts to hand off in pieces.
Part growth, part people, part who owns what. Splitting it up and hiring a specialist for each part costs you more than it fixes.
Whatever it is, you’ve already decided it matters. Your people don’t have the bandwidth or the experience to take it on, and it costs you every month it sits.
What you get is one person driving the initiative instead of four people carrying pieces.
Anybody can hand you a list of what to fix. The hard part is deciding what comes first, getting your people moving on it together, and adjusting when the business throws something your way that puts you in the middle of it.
Pat gets clear on what you’re really after and what’s in the way.
He builds the path to it with you.
He gets your people lined up behind it.
Then he stays in the work until you reach your desired outcome.
Pat drives it. He doesn’t take it over.
Your people are in it the whole way, doing the parts they’ll own after he’s gone.
See what the approach would look like for your situation.
Let’s TalkWhat you have when it’s done.
- The outcome you came in for, built and working.
- A path to it your people helped build and agree on, clear enough to act on.
- Progress inside the business, not a deck of recommendations.
- A handoff your team can own, at the point you’re ready to go without him.
You don’t have to commit to all of it to get started.
It starts with a conversation about what you want done. Pat comes back to you with your Custom‑Built Solution. What it covers, who’s involved, how it moves, and what it costs. You know what you’re agreeing to before you agree to it. You’re never locked in beyond what you need.

Who’s in the room with you.
Pat Alacqua started his own concrete business out of high school. At 24 he co‑founded a trade show and events company and built it into a globally recognized brand before selling to a private equity group. The systems he put in are still running that business decades later. He then took over a sports academy that was bleeding cash, rebuilt the model, and built the leadership team that eventually bought it from him.
Everything since has been working alongside founders and CEOs going through the same transitions he already lived through.
He’s the author of Obstacles to Opportunity, and his perspectives on scaling businesses have been published by Chief Executive, CEOWorld Magazine, and Duke Corporate Education’s Dialogue Review and more.
From leaders who’ve worked with Pat.

“Whenever I have a big challenge ahead in my business, I call Pat for help in guiding me through it. As an entrepreneur, having access to someone who understands and has experienced how to overcome the issues that arise in scaling a business is invaluable to my success.”
L.E.A.D.

“Pat can dig into the weeds and really think through process and operational efficiency and is a master at that, but he does not lose sight of the strategy. When you have somebody smart and they are on your side and willing to be honest with you, and they have a lot of integrity, you just can not go wrong.”

“Pat has the unique ability to provide guidance when identifying challenges in a clear and concise manner, making it easier to understand the challenges, act on the challenges, and overcome them. Being an excellent listener and communicator are two of Pat’s superpowers and why his guidance is so valued.”
Questions leaders ask before they call.
What does the investment look like?
Pat starts by asking what your budget is and builds the work to fit it. How much of his time you want, how many people are involved, onsite or remote. Each of those changes the shape and the fee to give you exactly what you need when you need it.
The engagement
How does it start?
A conversation about what you’re trying to get done. If there’s a fit, Pat comes back with the approach and what it costs, so you know what you’re agreeing to before you agree to it. And if it isn’t work he’s right for, he’ll say so and point you toward what is.
How long does it take?
It depends on what you’re after and how many people are in it. We customize the approach to your situation so you’re never buying open‑ended time. Whatever the length, the engagement is built to end with the work in your team’s hands.
What if I know what I want but not what it takes to get there?
That’s normal. We chart a clear path with you. Pat’s instruction going in is one line. Tell him what you know and don’t worry about what you don’t. What comes back is the outcome you’re after, what’s in the way, and the moves to get there.
Where it fits
How is this different from the other ways to work with Pat?
If what you want is a launch or new positioning, that’s Brand LaunchPad. A forward‑looking planning process for your leadership team is the Windshield Planning Intensive. Rebuilding the foundation the company operates on is Growth Pathfinder. One thing that won’t move, where what you need is a roadmap and your team agreeing on it, is 3Cs Scoped. This is for everything else that growth and scale requires. Same person, same way of working.
What kinds of challenges fit here?
The work covers the leadership challenges from the growing pains that surface for successful companies. Typically, your team doesn’t have the bandwidth, knowledge or experience to fix or prevent something that growth breaks.
Meet Pat
I started a company at 24 and built it into an internationally recognized brand. When it sold, the systems already in place kept running the business. They still are, decades later. Built to last. Built to scale at every next level of growth.
I then turned around a company that was losing money with no plan to stop it. Built the management systems and built the leadership team to run the company on its own. Build the systems and build the people, and the business stops depending on one person to hold it together.
I’ve been working with CEOs and founders ever since, helping them navigate the same transitions I faced from my own companies. Different industries, different companies, same growth problems underneath. Enough to know what’s breaking and why. Usually before the leader in the middle of it can identify it.
That’s the short version.
Tell Pat what you want done.
He’ll tell you what the work looks like, what it would take, and what it costs.
